I believe the deer at MSU were all in separate pens and breeding was definitely limited so that deer bread with individuals from their source population.

Love the Blog and I can tell you exactly where to shoot a bird in the Turner River Unit. As long as you don’t mind the 7.5 mile hike in. Email me if you want the location. Buddy of mine shot his on opening day and spooked 2 more on his way back in. He gave up his spot as he’s drawn tags for much better units.
